There are generally three categories of the National Intelligence Service recruitment that applicants can register under. They are:
- Graduate Trainee

- You must be a national i.e Kenyan and you must reside in Kenya with a valid means of identification i.e National ID card.
- Graduate trainees must have a mean grade C+ in KCSE while diploma holders are expected to have a minimum of C (plain) particularly in Kiswahili and English languages. On the other hand, certificate holders only need a minimum of D+ to qualify.
- Prospective applicants who are diploma holders must fall between ages 20 and 30 while certificate holders are expected to fall between 20 and 26 years old whereas prospective graduate trainees should be between 22 and 31 years old at the point of application.
- Applicants should be physically and mentally fit.
- Applicants should have no criminal history or background.
- Your certificate must be from a recognized institution and must cover a minimum of 6 months of study.
