Requirements for KEMRI Internship 2026/2027 

  • Applicant must be a Kenyan citizen.
  • Must have a valid National Identity Card or Passport.
  • Should be within 18 and 35 years of age.
  • Only attaches from government recognized training institutions shall be eligible for intake. 
  • The internship shall be offered to Bachelor degree students who are currently in their third year or fourth year of study as well as those who are in their second year of diploma studies. 
  • The internship shall be undertaken only once during their course study so those who have already done before cannot apply again. 
  • All interested students are required to submit their applications at least one month before the stipulated internship period starts.

KEMRI Internship 2026 Application Deadline

Individuals who are eligible for this internship program must visit the KEMRI recruitment portal to complete the application form on or before Tuesday, 27th January 2026. Inability to apply before the expiration of this deadline results to automatic disqualification.

  1. The program is for young people who have graduated and have been issued with relevant certifications. 
  2. Internship vacancy announcements are usually made on the KEMRI website. 
  3. Application are only received and considered when the advert is posted and open.

  5. Applicants should not be in any learning institution at the time of application.

  14. Interns must note that the institute will not offer employment after the internship period so no applicant should expect to be employed. 
  15. During the period of engagement, a monthly stipend will be provided at prevailing government rates.
