The Ministry of Roads and Transport is made up of three (3) departments. That is the State Department for Roads, State Department for Transport and State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development etc.

The core mission of this Ministry is to ensure proper regulation of Kenya’s transport and road infrastructure through policy development, planning and constructions, safety management, investment and partnerships etc.

Eligibility Criteria for Ministry of Roads Recruitment 2025

The general requirements that qualifies you for advertised vacancies are as follows:

  • Nationality: Persons applying are expected to be indigenes of Kenya who also possess valid Government-issued National Identity Card or Passport.
  • Clearance Documents: Candidate must adhere to chapter six requirements by possessing clearance certificates/documents from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loan Board (HELB), Ethic Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) etc.
  • Skills: Interested candidate must be result-oriented, ICT inclined, good team player, be able to work under pressure, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Age: Interested candidate must be within 18 and 35 years.
  • KCSE: Interested candidates must hold the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) with a minimum of D+ mean grade including English and Kiswahili language.

Qualifications for Ministry of Roads and Transport Jobs 2025

1. Security Warden III

  • Candidates applying for this role must not exceed 36 years of age.
  • Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.
  • Must also be proficient in relevant computer applications.
  • Must hold KCSE with D+ (plus) mean grade.

2. Diver II (Light and Heavy Commercial)

  • Candidates applying for this role must hold KCSE with grade D (plain) or equivalent qualification.
  • Candidate must have completed the suitability test for grade III.
  • Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have completed the First Aid Certificate at Kenya Institute of Highways and Technology (KIHBT) or equivalent institution.
  • Candidate is required to possess a minimum of four (4) years driving experience.

3. Plant Operator III

  • Applicants of this position must have D (plain) mean grade in KCSE.
  • Must have a valid driving license.
  • Should have experience for at least two (2) years and able to handle a minimum of 2-plants at ‘C” difficulty rating.

4. Artisan Upholster III

  • Interested candidate must hold the Government Trade/Grade Tests III in upholstery from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Candidate must be a computer literate.
  • Must hold mean grade D in KCSE.

5. Driver Instructor III

  • Persons interested in applying for this post must have completed a four (4) weeks instructors training at any accredited institution.
  • Candidate must be registered with the Kenya Engineering Technology Board (KETRB) as an Engineering Technician Craft.
  • Must have completed the First Aid certificate course at KIHBT or St. John’s Ambulance.
  • Candidate must hold a valid Driver’s license of class B, C1, C and as well be a computer literate.

6. Housekeeping Assistant I

  • Candidates going for this role must possess the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum of C- (minus) mean grade or hold an equivalent qualification.
  • Applicant must have a recognized certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry and the courses must have lasted for not less than one (1) year.
