The State Department for Housing and Urban Development is under the Ministry of Lands and Public Works. Requirements for Affordable Housing Internship 2026

  • Interested applicant must be a Kenyan citizen with a valid National Identity Card or Passport.
  • Must have a either a Degree or Diploma in any of the aforementioned academic discipline.
  • Must have graduated within the last three (3) years.
  • Candidate must be within the age bracket of 18 – 35 years.
  • He or she must be proficient in relevant computer applications.
  • Should not be a previous beneficiary of this program.
  • Must currently be unemployed and ready to participate in the program full-time.

Expectations for the Program

  • First, the internship will run for a total of twelve (12) months and selected candidates shall be expected to be available full-time throughout this period.
  • Interns shall carryout and finish duties delegated by the assigned supervisors.
  • Shall document skills acquired especially with regards to Affordable Housing Programme and Marketing projects.
  • Shall fully participate in orientation and mentorship programs conducted.
  • Stipend: Interns shall be given monthly stipend in accordance to the remuneration policy of the State Department of Housing and Urban Development.
  • Certificate: After successfully completing the internship programme, interns shall be given a certificate by the Department of Housing as proof of their participation.
