Qualifications for Bungoma County Recruitment 2026

To get selected for any of the above vacancies, here are the key criteria such candidate must meet.

1. Environment Management Officer I

  • Prospective applicant of this position must hold a Bachelor’s degree in either Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies or an equivalent position.
  • Candidate must be registered with the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) and Environmental Institute of Kenya etc.

2. Superintending Engineer

  • Persons interested in this position must hold first degree or Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a comparable course from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Prospective applicant must be a registered member of the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB) and also possess valid practicing license.
  • Having corporation membership with Institute of Engineers of Kenya (IEK is mandatory.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Engineer I or an equivalent position.
  • Applicant must have undergone a Project Development or leadership training for at least one (1) month at an accredited institution.

3. Youth Polytechnic Instructor III

  • Ideal candidate for this position is one with at least Diploma in Computer Studies, Fashion and Design or a related discipline.
  • Candidate must hold a recognized certificate as a course instructor.
  • Must be a computer literate.

4. Youth Training Officer

  • Candidates going for this position must have a degree in Education, Science or Art related course.
  • Those with Post Graduate Diploma in Education have an added advantage.
  • Prospective applicant must be a registered member of relevant professional bodies for instructors or teachers e.g. TSC.
  • Candidate must hold a valid certificate in relevant computer applications.

5. Deputy Director of Vocational Training

  • Interested applicant must hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in ECDE, Education Administration, Curriculum or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience is required.
  • Candidate is expected to have a recognized certificate in Professional Management of Leadership course.
  • Must be conversant with relevant Vocational Training and Education policies.

6. Deputy Director, ECDE

  • Prospective applicant of this position must hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in either Education Administration, Curriculum, Management or an equivalent position.
  • Applicant must have a management course that lasted for a minimum of four (4) weeks.
  • Working as an Assistant Director for a minimum of three (3) years is an added advantage.

7. Director of Education

  • Interested applicant must have served in the capacity of a Deputy Director for a minimum duration of three (3) years.
  • Should hold a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education Administration, Curriculum.
  • Applicant must have over 10 years general work experience in the Public Service including serving at top management position.
  • Applicant must have a recognized certified in computer application.
